Partnership with Local Rescues

Annual Pet Food Drive/On-Going Sponsorship Program

Harmony Hospital for Pets supports the Larimer County Pet Food Bank administered by P.U.P. This is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. We believe animals are a vital part of the human experience. People of all ages find their lives enriched having shared it with a furry companion.

Our pets give us unconditional love and devotion. In return, we provide them with food, shelter, and care. When someone faces difficulties in providing for their pet, the Pet Food Bank can help see that their pets won’t go hungry. The assistance can often be the difference between keeping their dear friend and having to re-home them.

Also, our staff feels passionate that these pets deserve a premium food. Studies show that nutrition is the building blocks for a healthy pet and can help stay off potential issues which can be expensive. We have an on-going food sponsorship program to ensure we donate premium food to the food bank.

Each year, our staff goes into “Total Elf” mode and sponsor a food drive for the Pet Food Bank. iVet pet foods have been our sponsoring partners for the last five years with matching donations. We started with 500 pounds of food sponsored and now can proudly brag that we collected over 1600 pounds of food last year!

“Dylan is my M-WSD (Medical Working Service Dog) and I CANNOT live independently without him. I couldn’t afford to feed both Dylan and Laika without your help each month. You make it possible for the disabled on limited incomes to still have their WSD’s and companion animals, and for that, you are angels. “

“Over the course of each year, we serve dozens-if not hundreds-of individuals who are homeless and own pets. It is not an understatement to say that-when it comes to serving animals-we would be lost without PUP’s support. They provide us with pet food for our Street Outreach program and Gear Room, attend and serve families at each of our quarterly Children in Need service events and participate in countless other community events. PUP saves lives: it’s as simple as that.”

-Testimonial from David Rout, Executive Director of Homeless Gear, Fort Collins

Halloween Pet Costume Contest

For several years, our staff organized a community Halloween costume contest for dogs and cats. Thanks to the donations from local businesses and our hospital vendors, many winners received over $200 valued gift baskets for prizes. Even all the entries got a small prize. This was a community event to get everyone into the Halloween spirit!
